IMPORTANT􀖀 You must include the Ingress controller (if used) within the service mesh as

a prerequisite to enabling Istio strict mTLS. If not done, the Ingress controller will not be

able to connect to the Vault services and that will result in an outage. See the Appendix J

case study in Vault Cloud Infrastructure for further details.
