# install xdebug
sudo apt-get install php-xdebug
# verify installation 
php -v # there should be something like "with Xdebug vX.X.X"
# modify file 20-xdebug.ini (it can be found with "php --ini" command) with the following:
  
  zend_extension="xdebug.so"
  xdebug.mode=debug
  xdebug.remote_enable=on
  xdebug.start_with_request=yes

# On vscode:
install "PHP Debug" extension by Xdebug
go on debug section and click on "create a launch.json file", then add:

	"version": "0.2.0",
	"configurations": [
		{
			"name": "Listen for Xdebug",
			"type": "php",
			"request": "launch",
			"port": 9003,
		}
	]
}

now after restarting the web server and the debugger it should work
