This is example of how to get or fetch data from API in NEXTjs.
I have write beacause when we write api it's work fine on localhost but when we upload to
vercel it's not working so i write this example which works well on both.

//api/getallblogs

import path from 'path';

export default async function handler(req, res) {
  if (req.method === 'GET') {
    try {
      const dirPath = path.join(process.cwd(), 'static/json/');
      const data = await fs.promises.readdir(dirPath);
      let allBlogs = [];

        const filePath = path.join(dirPath, item);
        const myFile = await fs.promises.readFile(filePath, 'utf-8');
        allBlogs.push(JSON.parse(myFile));
      }

    } catch (error) {
      res.status(500).json({ message: 'Error reading files', error });
    }
  } else {
    res.status(405).json({ message: 'Method not allowed' });
  }
}

Nextjs api is a folder created in the app directory(if using nextjs 13) 
which allows you to create proccess as if they are on a backend framework. 
Some tasks cannot be done on the front end code because of less security like 
database integration.
